You are bidding on a Game-Used 1st Base from the game on September 11, 2021 versus the Cleveland Indians. This base was used for all innings 1-9 and was on the field for one of the most historic games in Brewers franchise history. The Brewers took an early 3-0 lead, as Christian Yelich and Omar Narvaez plated two runs in the first inning with an RBI double and sacrifice fly, respectively, while Rowdy Tellez added the team's third and final run with an RBI double in the second inning. Then the focus of the game turned to the pitching performance of Brewers All-Star and ace starting pitcher, Corbin Burnes. The Brewers star pitcher struck out at least two batters in each of his first five innings and did not allow a hit. After working a 1-2-3 inning in the sixth, Burnes issued a walk to Myles Straw, the leadoff hitter in the seventh inning, for the first Cleveland baserunner of the game, therefore ending the bid for a perfect game. However, Burnes would strike out two more batters in the inning and one more in the eighth to reach 14 strikeouts for the outing. Burnes induced a groundout for the second out of the 8th inning, before Lorenzo Cain provided the defensive web gem of the game to preserve the no-hitter, making a running and sliding catch of Owen Miller's sinking line drive. With a career high 115 pitches, Brewers All-Star closer and two-time NL Reliever of the Year, Josh Hader, was called upon, to not only earn his 31st save of the season, but also solidify the team's second no-hitter in franchise history. Hader was up to the task, as the Brewers reliever struck out Oscar Mercado swinging, forced an Austin Hedges popout in foul territory to first baseman Jace Peterson, and finally, struck out Myles Straw swinging. The combined dominant efforts of Burnes (8.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 14 SO) and Hader (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 SO) cemented their place in Brewers history, joining Juan Nieves (April 15, 1987 vs BAL) as the only pitchers to toss a no-hitter. The combined no-hitter also set an MLB record, as it was the ninth no-hitter in the Majors in 2021, which surpassed 1884 for the most no-hitters recorded in a year in MLB history (pending the inclusion of Negro League stats).
